Whys Kids should be able to pick their own books

No, I think that letting your parents pick out your books for you is non-sensense, because first of all if the kid doesn't like reading, having your parents pick the books out for you will just make him/her hate it worse since you can't pick your own genre of interest. So basicly im saying i don't think the parents should have this option because it doesn't benifit the child. And it doesn't benifit the parents either because in our library they don't have the inuendo they had talked abiut in the passage.

"Be Caring"

Yes, a person does have the right to take care of themselves because it's their own life. And it being the primary basis for your decisions depends on the person, in my opinion i would take care of myself over others but if my friends or family were in need i would also take care of them without complaint. If a person were to live their life based on my philosophy their life would be revolved around themselves but the person would also be willing to take care of others if they were in need, just like i explained in the first two questions I answered.

The Pearl Questions

Q: What do we learn about the pearl's symbolism from the reactions it evokes?

A: We learn that even though the pearl can bring untold riches to Kino's family not everything good benifits from having it in their possession because of the dangers and evil Juana believes it brings to them.

Q: What human characteristics does the pearl bring out in these characters? Explain why you think the way that you do.

A: I think it brings out greed in Kino because he pictures nothing but good things in his future without thinking about the harm it may bring to his family. Selfishness in the doctor because once he hears that Kino discovered the pearl he desides to help coyotito. Worry in Juana because she believes everyone is after their family because of the pearl. Hope in the townspeople because they think once Kino makes the sell he will help them out. Greed in the neighbors because they want the pearl and dont think Kino deserves it. And wisdom to the priest since he is the one to help Kino out on what to and what not to do with the pearl
